Take a Fishing Trip in Your Own Backyard!

The lake at TerraBella Village has always been prized for its location just below our 140-acre Nature
Preserve. It provides our community with beautiful views, peaceful walks, and a relaxing paddle by canoe or kayak. We are now excited to share that TerraBella residents have recently begun to enjoy fishing with family and neighbors, as well!

Over 3,000 fingerlings were released in the lake at TerraBella Village! Largemouth bass and coppernose bluegill were introduced to the lake before the summer and are already creating memories for residents, their children, and grandchildren. Largemouth bass, when fully mature, can grow up to 24 inches and 20 pounds. Coppernose bluegill, which can grow up to 12 inches at maturity, spawn during the summer months and can lay as many as 10’s of thousands of eggs. In addition, approximately 500 minnows were released to feed the larger fish and nearly 30 koi were released to assist with keeping the lake clean. We expect to also add catfish to the ecosystem in the future.

We invite our residents to fish the lake anytime. However, please keep in mind that many of the fish are young and need approximately 12 months to mature. Fishing at TerraBella is intended to be “catch and release” so that all residents can enjoy fishing for years to come.

We would love to hear your fishing stories so take photos and let us know about your recent trip! Feel free to email your photos and stories to info@terrabellavillage.com
